World oil prices are declining on Dec.20 as the activity of traders is gradually slowing down on the eve of the year-end.
The price of February futures for Brent crude oil dropped by 0.27 percent and stood at $54.77 per barrel as of 02:02 EST. This is while the price of January futures for West Texas Intermediate (WTI) oil decreased by 0.40 percent to $51.91 per barrel.
Analysts said they expected markets would likely remain tepid this week, with no fundamentals expected that could drive large price swings.
