About 250,000 tons of Azerbaijani oil (1.8 million barrels) will be transshipped from Georgia’s Black Sea port of Supsa in January 2017, a source on the country’s oil and gas market told Trend Dec. 29.
The oil will be transshipped from the port in three equal batches, 600,000 barrels each.
Two batches will account for Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR, the other one – for BP, according to the source.
Azerbaijan’s Azeri Light oil from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli block of oil and gas fields is delivered to the Supsa port via the Baku-Supsa oil pipeline. The Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) is the pipeline’s operator.
