Russian company plans to build fuel plant in Kazakhstan

Russian Kosmos-Neft-Gaz company develops a project of a new plant producing Euro-5 fuel in South Kazakhstan.
The plant is planned to be build in cooperation with Kazakh South Oil company.

This issue was discussed within the meeting of the head of South Kazakhstan region Zhanseit Tuimebayev with the heads of Kosmos-Neft-Gaz Ivan Lachugin and South Oil Serikzhan Seitzhanov, the press-service of regional administration said in a message March 10.

Kazakhstan has three big oil refineries – in Atyrau, Shymkent and Pavlodar. In 2016 as much as 2.95 million tons of gasoline was produced in the country (2.8 percent more than in 2015). Meanwhile, Kazakhstan annually imports about 1.1 million tons of gasoline mainly from Russia to meet domestic demand.
