Azerbaijan’s Energy Ministry has started the process of establishing the Public Council, said the ministry in a message.
The purpose of creating the Public Council is to ensure the participation of citizens and civil society in the process of adopting legal acts in the areas of activity of the ministry and in organizing public control over the activities of the ministry.
“The process of nominating candidates for the Public Council will begin on May 22, 2017. Registration of candidates will last for 20 working days, that is, it will finish on June 20. Any institution of civil society operating in various fields can nominate only one candidate for membership of the Council,” says the message.
According to the message, the election commission will review the registration of nominated candidates within three days and take an appropriate decision. Elections to the Public Council will be held within a month after the completion of registration.
The election commission includes nine representatives of the ministry and institutions of civil society.
