By Maksim Tsurkov – Trend:

Bahar Energy Ltd. plans to increase gas production at the Azerbaijani offshore field Bahar until late 2017, a source in the company told Trend June 6.

Production volumes within the PSA for exploration, rehabilitation, development and extraction at the Bahar-Gum Deniz block averaged 865 barrels of oil and 586,160 cubic meters of gas daily in the first quarter of 2017, according to the source.

Five overhaul and 10 repair works have been completed at the Gum Deniz oil field since the beginning of 2017.

At the Bahar gas field, the company completed overhaul of well No. 83 with an initial capacity of 62,300 cubic meters of gas per day, and repair of two more gas wells will be completed in the second quarter of 2017, the source said.

In the first quarter of 2017, Bahar Energy Ltd. had progress regarding several construction projects, including modernization of one platform, strengthening of the support infrastructure, and modernization of various facilities, noted the source.

The company carried out the main part of this work independently, eliminating the need for third-party contractors, and this resulted in increased efficiency and lower costs, the source said.

Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR signed a PSA in 2009 with Bahar Energy Ltd. for exploration, rehabilitation, development and extraction at the Bahar-Gum Deniz block.

The US Greenfields Petroleum Corporation is the 100-percent owner of the Bahar Energy Ltd.
