Baku, Azerbaijan, July 4

By Maksim Tsurkov – Trend:

Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR has exported about 560 million cubic meters of gas to Georgia in the first half of 2017, a source in SOCAR told Trend July 4.

“Since the beginning of 2017, slightly more than 3 million cubic meters of gas have been exported daily to Georgia in average,” the source said. “This figure has decreased because consumption in the summer falls significantly.”

SOCAR exported 1.32 billion cubic meters of gas to Georgia in 2016.

SOCAR supplies its own gas to Georgia via the Hajigabul-Gazakh-Gardabani pipeline. The pumping capacity of the gas pipeline after its modernization exceeds 3.5 billion cubic meters per year.

SOCAR manages gas distribution networks in various regions of Georgia via the SOCAR Georgia Gas company.
