Some 19.9 percent of the total amount of tax revenues transferred to the state budget of Azerbaijan fell on the country’s state oil company SOCAR in 2016, said the report on the sustainable development of SOCAR published on its website Aug. 9.
Out of nearly 7.02 billion manats allocated to Azerbaijan’s state budget in the form of taxes last year, 1.394 billion manats were accounted to SOCAR, according to the report.
SOCAR includes companies producing oil and gas onshore and offshore, as well as the Azneft production association, the Azerkimya, which includes chemical industry enterprises, and the Azerigaz, which distributes produced gas in Azerbaijan.
The company also includes oil and gas processing plants, service companies, and institutions for geophysical and drilling operations.
