SOCAR allocations to state budget up by over 15%

Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR allocated 1.05 billion manats (1.7009 AZN/USD on Sept. 11) to the state budget in January-August 2017, which is by 15.8 percent (142.95 million manats) more than in the same period of 2016, SOCAR said in a message Sept. 11.

In August 2017, SOCAR transferred 133.78 million manats to the state budget, which is by 14.9 percent (17.32 million manats) more than in the same period of 2016.

In January-August 2017, SOCAR transferred 99.83 million manats to the State Social Protection Fund (SSPF) of Azerbaijan, which is by 5.8 percent (5.48 million manats) more than in the same period of 2016.

In August 2017, transfers to the SSPF amounted to 12.575 million manats.

SOCAR includes such production unions as Azneft (the enterprises producing oil and gas onshore and offshore), Azerikimya (the chemical enterprises) and Azerigas (distributor of gas produced in the country), as well as oil and gas processing plants, service companies and the facilities involved in geophysical and drilling operations.
