Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan agree on Shymkent-Jizzakh oil pipeline

Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan agreed on the construction of the Shymkent-Djizak trunk pipeline with a capacity of 5 million tons per year.

Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan agreed on the construction of the Shymkent-Djizak oilpipeline with a capacity of 5 million tons per year. The commissioning of the pipeline is being planned by 2021.

The capacity of the project is expected to be 5 million tons per year, according to the framework agreement, Kazinform reported.

The parties will contribute to the creation of favorable conditions for the implementation of authorized organizations’ plans over construction and commissioning of the Shymkent-Djizak project.

Design, financing, construction and operation of the oil pipeline will be carried out by the authorized organizations in the territory of its respective state.

At the same time, the parties agreed to provide their authorized organizations with the necessary permits and licenses for the design, construction and operation of the joint project.
