Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR drilled 103,630 meters in January-September 2017, as compared to 86,580 meters in the same period of 2016, SOCAR said in a message Oct. 3.
Some 96,250 meters accounted for production drilling, while the rest part accounted for exploration drilling in January-September 2017.
SOCAR has commissioned 56 new wells since early 2017.
In 2016, SOCAR drilled 105,250 meters against 104,410 meters drilled in 2015.
SOCAR includes such production unions as Azneft (the enterprises producing oil and gas onshore and offshore), Azerikimya (the chemical enterprises) and Azerigas (distributor of gas produced in the country), as well as oil and gas processing plants, service companies and the facilities involved in geophysical and drilling operations.
