Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR drilled 114,910 meters in January-October 2017 as compared to 93,660 meters in the same period of 2016, said the company Nov. 3.
Some 106,590 meters out of the total drilling work carried out in the period accounted for production drilling, and remaining part – for exploratory drilling.
SOCAR has commissioned 66 new wells since early 2017.
The company drilled 105,250 meters in 2016 as compared to 104,410 meters in 2015.
SOCAR includes companies producing oil and gas both on land and in the sea – Azneft production association, the chemical industry enterprise, combined the company Azerikimiya, Azerigas – which deals with the distribution of produced gas in the country, oil and gas processing plants, service companies, institutions for geophysical and drilling operations.
