Net profit of SOCAR’s petchem complex in Turkey up by almost twofold

Net profit of Turkey’s Petkim petrochemical complex increased by 1.9 times to 1.03 billion Turkish liras in January-September 2017, Petkim said in a report Nov. 10.

Petkim’s net profit amounted to 515.41 million liras in the first three quarters of 2016.

As of October 1, 2017, assets of the Turkish petrochemical complex Petkim reached 6.8 billion liras, increasing by 8.5 percent as compared to the same period of 2016.

The report says that Petkim’s revenues rose by 56 percent in 2Q17 and totaled 1.84 billion liras.

Petkim produces plastic packages, fabrics, detergents, and is the sole Turkish manufacturer of such products, a quarter of which is exported. The production capacity of Petkim is 3.6 million tons per year.

Petkim shareholders are SOCAR Turkey Petrokimya AS (51 percent), Goldman Sachs (7.68 percent), and other shareholders (41.32 percent).
