Energy-efficient technologies to be applied in Uzbek capital

The terms of the project on "Introduction of energy efficient technologies in street lighting in Tashkent" with the participation of the Islamic Development Bank have been adjusted in accordance with the decree of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Under the document, 1,546 units of power supply cabinets and 116,083 units of mercury-containing lighting devices will be replaced in Tashkent. They will be replaced by LED lights. The contractor for the project is LLC "Toshelectroapparat".

There was also approved the list of raw materials, components, equipment, technological equipment, which until January 1,2019 will be exempted from customs payments (except for customs duties).

In general, according to the program for modernization of outdoor lighting systems in 2016-2019, a number of measures are envisaged - further reduction of energy intensity and the introduction of energy-saving technologies and systems in the field of outdoor lighting, as well as optimization of street lighting schemes in the cities of Uzbekistan.

The program provides for the modernization of outdoor lighting systems in the cities of Uzbekistan until 2020 by replacing existing energy-intensive lamps with modern energy-saving lighting devices based on LED technology.

The total cost of projects for the modernization of outdoor lighting systems in 28 cities of Uzbekistan, implemented from the state budget, is 84.8 billion soums (in 2017 - about 24 billion soums).
