Construction of the plant for production of high quality petrol based on natural gas is underway in the Ovadandele area in Akhalsk region, Central Turkmenistan.
In a meeting with President Gurbangulu Berdimukhammedov, Head of Turkey's Rönesans Holding Erman Ilidjak spoke about work over construction of important facility, which is unique worldwide, Turkmen dovlet khaberleri state agency reported on Dec. 12.
President Berdimukhammedov said that complex upgrade and diversification of the national economy, which is keen to attract the best international experience and high-tech envision building a plenty of new facilities of different appointment, which should meet high world standards.
The construction of the plant began in 2015 in line with the contract signed with the consortium of companies that includes Japan's Kawasaki and Rönesans in the amount of around $1.7 billion. The annual production capacity of the plant is refining 1.785 billion cubic meters of gas and producing 600,000 tons of premium quality ecologically clean A-92 petrol, meeting Euro-5 standards.
The plant is scheduled to be commissioned late 2018. The considerable part of the product will be directed for export.
