Turkey to start producing solar batteries

Turkey will start producing solar batteries, the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey told Trend Dec.18.

Over the last 12 years, more than 50 percent of the electricity produced in Turkey was provided by renewable energy sources.

The ministry also noted that over the next ten years, Turkey intends to build two powerful power plants - wind and solar, each of them will have a capacity of 10,000 megawatts.

"The production of solar cells, as well as the construction of wind and solar power plants is implemented in the framework of the project, the government" Target-2023," said the ministry.

Over the past two years, $1.9 billion have been invested in the energy sector of the country, 30 percent of these funds are invested in the development of renewable energy sources, said the ministry.

Presently, 600 hydropower plants operate in Turkey.
