The Kandym gas processing plant is planned to be commissioned in April 2018.

This was announced at the meeting between Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz JSC Alisher Sultanov and Vice-President of LUKOIL PJSC Sergey Nikiforov in Tashkent Feb. 8.

"The sides discussed the results of joint cooperation for 2017,” Uzbekneftegaz said. “The agenda also included the issues of rendering assistance in the preparation of LUKOIL President Vagit Alekperov’s visit to Uzbekistan, the timing of the launch ceremony of the Kandym gas processing plant, as well as mutual settlements for the export of natural gas."

The sides reached an agreement concerning the launch ceremony of the Kandym gas processing plant in April 2018. The event is timed to the planned meeting of the LUKOIL Board of Directors in Bukhara.

In 2014, LUKOIL Uzbekistan Operating Company and a consortium led by Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd (South Korea) signed a contract for the supply of equipment and construction of a complex of the gas processing plant. The total investments in the project are estimated at more than $3 billion.

LUKOIL has been implementing the Kandym project since 2004 together with Uzbekneftegaz within the production sharing agreement on Kandym-Khausak-Shady-Kungrad project.
