Gazprom to carry out geological survey work in Uzbekistan

JSC Uzbekneftegaz and Russian OJSC Gazprom discussed cooperation during the meeting of the Joint Coordination Committee, held on March 13 in Tashkent, press office of the Uzbek company said.

According to the information, the meeting was held under the chairmanship of Uzbek Prime Minister, CEO of Uzbekneftegaz Alisher Sultanov and Deputy CEO of Gazprom Vitaly Markelov.

The Russian company was represented by an over 40-person delegation.

The sides discussed current condition and results of the work carried out within the framework of bilateral cooperation, listened to the reports of working groups and determined priority directions for future activity.

The Russian side noted that Gazprom has begun the active stage of examining geological and geophysical materials and developed a concept of the engineering and innovations center.

The sides carried out a fruitful work on experience exchange and in-service education in 2017. More than 50 employees from the enterprises of the Uzbekneftegaz were trained at Gazprom’s facilities.

The sides exchanged opinions and information about production technologies implemented by Russian enterprises under the localization and import substitution program, as well as about Uzbekistan’s experience on use of natural gas as motor fuel.

The meeting was summed up by determination of further aims for the work groups and approval of plans on the mutual activity.

Uzbekneftegaz and Gazprom signed the agreement “On joint geological survey work and organization of engineering and innovations operation” and “On cooperation in training and retraining of specialist” during the official visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Russia on April 4-5, 2017.

The sides signed the strategic cooperation agreement on June 2, 2017, in order to systemize the work.
