Uzbekistan developing gas-chemical industry in regions

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will visit Bukhara province and take part in the official opening ceremony of the Kandym Gas Refinery Plant on April 19, Press Secretary of the president Komil Allamzhonov announced on his Facebook page.
“Head of the state will take part in the opening ceremony of the Kandym Gas Refinery complex, built jointly by Uzbekneftegaz JSC and Russian Lukoil,” the message read.
According to the trip program, the president will also visit Navoi province, where the Uzbek Navoiazot is establishing three chemical production enterprises.
“The president will get acquainted with the construction process during the visit,” the press secretary said.
Lukoil commissioned the first stage of the gas refinery on Nov. 3, 2017, which is three months ahead of the deadline.
The capacity of the plant is 8.1 billion cubic meters of gas per year. Some 2125 new working places will be opened after completion of the project.
Lukoil has been operating in Uzbekistan on Production Sharing Agreement (PSA) terms since 2004.
