President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister on Presidential Affairs of the United Arab Emirates sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who paid official visit to the country, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said May 8.
According to the statement, the head of state greeted the guest and noted that relations between Uzbekistan and the UAE are intensifying in all directions, with the the bilateral cooperation getting to a new level.
During the meeting, the sides discussed main directions of bilateral cooperation, including wide attraction of the UAE investors to implementation of prospective projects in Uzbekistan.
The parties achieved agreement on implementation of mutually beneficial projects in oil and gas sphere, chemical and construction industries, agriculture, logistics, tourism etc.
Sheikh Mansour, on his part, noted that the government of the UAE fully supports the initiatives put forward by Uzbekistan during the international conference on Afghanistan held in Tashkent in March 2018, and the proposals of the country within the framework of the Organization on Islamic Cooperation.
He also expressed readiness of the UAE to expand all-round mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries to fully implement certain prospective investment projects.
