By Maksim Tsurkov – Trend:

In January-April 2018, SOCAR Energy Ukraine, a Ukrainian subsidiary of the Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR, imported about 7,000 tons of aviation fuel to Ukraine, a source in the oil and gas market of Azerbaijan told Trend May 15.

The source said SOCAR Energy Ukraine increased the import of aviation fuel after winning a tender for the supply of that resource to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

"In general, the share of the company in the total import of aviation fuel to Ukraine in four months of 2018 exceeded 5 percent," the source said.

In 2017, SOCAR supplied over 20,000 tons of aviation fuel to Ukraine.

SOCAR is represented in Ukraine by its subsidiary SOCAR Energy Ukraine and owns a network of 60 filling stations.

SOCAR is the sole producer of oil products in Azerbaijan.
