IGB: Public procurement announced for archeological studies along pipeline’s route

ICGB AD, which is engaged in the construction of the Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria (IGB) has launched a procedure for the award of public procurement with subject “Archeological studies of archeological sites found along the route of gas interconnector Greece-Bulgaria“, Trend learned from the company.

The estimated value of the public procurement is 3 million Bulgarian levs ($1.798 million) exclusive VAT and the term for implementation of the public procurement is 3 months as of award of the study for the respective archeological site, said the company.

“The selection of a contractor for the archeological studies will be made through a procedure of negotiation with initial invitation for participation. The deadline for submitting requests for participation in the first phase of the procedure is June 5, 2018,” said the ICGB AD.

Subject of the archeological studies will be the linear part of the pipeline IGB together with its servitude, the sites for the block valves, the above-ground installations and the infrastructure (power supply lines, water supply lines, sewerage, road connections), according to the information.

IGB is a gas pipeline, which will allow Bulgaria to receive Azerbaijani gas, in particular, the gas produced from Azerbaijan's Shah Deniz 2 gas and condensate field. IGB is expected to be connected to the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) via which gas from the Shah Deniz field will be delivered to the European markets.

The initial capacity of IGB will be 3 billion cubic meters of gas.
