Managing director of Tehran Air Quality Control Company said Iranians can now purchase Euro 4 diesel from designated gas stations across the country.
Some 400 gas stations, 220 in metropolitan cities and 180 on main roads, are now selling Euro 4 diesel, Vahid Hassani said, Iranian media reported.
The distribution of the Euro 4 diesel started on May 22, he added, noting that more stations are scheduled to commence.
The Euro 4 diesel being distributed in the country by the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company meets international standards
According to reports, refineries in Tehran, Arak, Isfahan and Lavan produced 26 million liters of diesel per day in 2017. By March 2019, diesel output will reach 110 million liters, of which 70 million liters will comply with Euro 4 standards.
