Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR will sign two memorandums with foreign companies at the Caspian Oil & Gas conference in Baku, said Aynur Nazarli, the conference manager, at a press conference dedicated to the 25th International Caspian Oil & Gas Exhibition and Conference.

"On the first day of the conference, after a plenary session, two memorandums between SOCAR and foreign companies are expected to be signed. More detailed information will be provided during the conference," Nazarli said.

The 25th International Caspian Oil & Gas Exhibition and Conference and the 8th Caspian International Power and Alternative Energy Exhibition, Caspian Power 2018, will be held from May 29 to June 1 in Baku.

This year 312 companies from 38 countries will take part in Caspian Oil & Gas Exhibition. The national groups will be presented by Italy, Belarus and Russia. This year's exhibition has expanded thanks to the addition of new companies, which accounted for 20 percent of the total number of participants. Most of them are foreign participants, showing high interest in the oil and gas market of Azerbaijan. Forty percent of the exhibition area will be occupied by well-known companies that are permanent participants of the exhibition.

Traditionally, for many years, state oil company SOCAR has been acting as the general sponsor of the Caspian Oil & Gas Exhibition, BP and Equinor companies – as gold sponsors, TPAO – as silver sponsor, and Azeri M-I Drilling Fluids, AZFEN, Baku Steel Company, Bos Shelf, SOCAR Polymer, CDC, CMS, Global Energy Azerbaijan, Tekfen Construction, and Russian export center are listed among the bronze sponsors.

B2B meetings will be held for the first time within the exhibition this year, where local and foreign companies will take part.

About 500 delegates, including top managers of companies, representatives of industry ministries, international and Azerbaijani experts will take part in the conference dedicated to the exhibition. About 50 speakers will make presentations. The program includes the speeches of the Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan Parviz Shahbazov, the Secretary General of OPEC Mohammed Barkindo, Secretary General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) Yury Sentyurin, the President of SOCAR Rovnag Abdullayev, BP's Regional President Gary Jones, and the European Commissioner for Budget and Human Resources Gunther Oettinger.
