US, UAE buying petroleum products in Turkmenistan

Some 64 deals were registered at the auction of the State Commodity Exchange of Turkmenistan last week, the commodity exchange said in a statement.

Entrepreneurs from the US, UAE, Switzerland, Afghanistan and Kazakhstan purchased gasoline, liquefied gas, hydro-purified diesel fuel, and lighting kerosene produced at the Turkmenbashi oil refinery.

Diesel fuel produced at the Seidi refinery, and technical iodine, fine-grained potassium chloride, urea, and black carbon (produced by "Turkmenkhimiya” State Concern) were the subject of transactions of businessmen from Russia, US, UAE, Afghanistan, Armenia, and Tajikistan. The total amount of transactions exceeded $51 million.

The enterprises and organizations of all forms of ownership, citizens of Turkmenistan and other states can become participants of exchange trading by purchasing a brokerage place or by concluding a service contract with brokers of the exchange. The main export items are petroleum products, cotton fiber, products of the domestic textile industry, and chemical industry.
