Russian oil company finalizes contract with Turkmenistan

The Russian oil company Tatneft is working on expanding its contract with Turkmenistan, the national TV channel Altyn Asyr reported.

Eighty eight wells have been included into the plans of joint activity, repair work over which will need to be implemented in order to increase reservoir oil recovery rate. Tatneft has been represented on the Turkmen market since 2010.

The work has been carried out at the western Goturdepe field under the contract with the Turkmennebit State Concern. The project has provided for the overhaul of wells and increase in reservoir oil recovery rate. A total of 38 wells were repaired. The extra oil was obtained as a result of the implemented work and use of new technologies and equipment.

Turkmenistan produces about 10 million tons of oil annually. A significant share of this raw material is processed in the country.

Earlier it was reported that the Russian company is interested in providing services in Turkmenistan for restoration of oil-bearing wells, supply of oilfield equipment, chemical reagents, base oils and tire products.
