The active work is underway to supply gas to the settlements in the north of Turkmenistan, the "Neutral Turkmenistan" newspaper wrote.

Thus, several new medium-pressure gas pipelines are being built on the territory of one of the most remote etraps (districts) of Dashoguz velayat (region) - Turkmenbashi etrap. The total length of the two new gas pipelines will exceed 2.6 kilometers.

Almost all etraps of Dashoguz region are rapidly working on supplying gas to the built facilities, most of which are individual houses in rural areas, the message says.

"Turkmengazosnabjhenie" (Turkmen gas supply) Production Association intends to lay more than 125 kilometers of new gas distribution pipelines by the end of this year.

Turkmenistan ranks fourth in the world in terms of natural gas reserves after Russia, Iran and Qatar, according to the report published by the British Petroleum (BP) company.

The largest deposits of the country – "Galkynysh" and "Yashlar" with total resources estimated by local geologists and the British GCA company within 26.2 trillion cubic meters, are concentrated in the Mary region in the east of the country.
