By Ilkin Shafiyev - Trend:

Modernization of the plant of Azerbaijani company Azguntex, which produces solar panels, is planned to be completed approximately in November 2018, Deputy Chairman of the State Agency for Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources Jamil Malikov told Trend on Sep. 3.

Previously, the company produced solar panels with capacity of 250 watts. Their capacity will grow to 300-330 watts after the modernization.

The annual capacity of the plant after modernization will increase from 25 to 60-65 megawatts.

After completion of the modernization, the company will have two production lines with capacity of 100,000 solar panels per year each.

The work is being carried out under engineering supervision of the Dutch company RIMAS.

"The process of modernization is now ongoing, but due to holidays the work was not so active in the summer. The company is carrying out the modernization with internal funds. The cost of work is estimated at 50,000-60,000 euros, the highest value being 100,000 euros," Malikov said.

"Presently, negotiations are being conducted to export the plant's products to other countries," the deputy chairman added.

The Azguntex plant was opened in April 2012.
