Preparation for work in the winter season is in full swing at the railway network and structural units of JSC "NC "KTZ"” (Kazakhstan Railways), KTZ said in a statement.
More than 260 activities will be executed within the developed Plan of preparation of trackside, rolling stock and personnel for work in the winter season 2018-2019.
Now, the work on preparation of boiler rooms, snow-removing and snow-cleaning equipment, a rolling stock, buildings and structures, provision of railway personnel with coal and overalls is in full swing.
More than 3,300 units of rolling stock are being prepared for reliable operation during cold weather. The current repair of buildings is carried out using the KTZ's own resources, the general readiness of boiler rooms for winter amounts to 73 percent - from the planned 356 boiler rooms 259 have been repaired.
According to the schedule, the work is underway to provide coal. First of all, the supply of coal for domestic needs of railway workers is carried out. To date, 44,574 tons of coal, or 77 percent of the planned amount of coal have been supplied.
JSC "NC "KTZ"” carries out rail and sea transportation, provides services of transport and logistics centers, as well as sea port, airport and road infrastructure.
The company implements infrastructure projects within the framework of the state program "Nurly Zhol", participates in the implementation of the National Plan "100 concrete steps", continues to modernize transport stock, expands dry cargo and ferry fleet, participates in the institutional development of international transport corridors and the elimination of non-physical barriers in the course of implementation of transportation.
