The engagement includes crucial assistance to ICGB for the implementation of the IGB project during the construction phase through to the interconnector’s commissioning and supporting the management of the major contracts. The estimated value of the public procurement is set as a total price of 8.45 million euros excluding VAT.

Assigning the procurement for owner’s engineer is a key stage in the realization of the project as it’s one of the last steps before construction activities begin.

IGB is a gas pipeline, which will allow Bulgaria to receive Azerbaijani gas, in particular, the gas produced from Azerbaijan's Shah Deniz 2 gas and condensate field. IGB is expected to be connected to TAP via which gas from the Shah Deniz field will be delivered to the European markets.

The initial capacity of IGB will be 3 billion cubic meters of gas.
