The present draft program of gasification of Astana city has been published for public discussion, the "Astanaenergoservice" JSC said in a statement.
The "KazTransGas" company plans to build the "Saryarka" main gas pipeline along the "Kyzylorda – Zhezkazgan – Karaganda – Temirtau – Astana" route with a length of 1081 kilometers, the message says.
This section of the pipeline will provide natural gas to the citizens of Astana, Karaganda, Temirtau, Zhezkazgan cities and nearby settlements situated along the main gas pipeline route.
With the aim of harmonization of the ongoing project, the capital's administration has initiated the designing of gas supply systems of the city of Astana.
The gasification project of Astana city provides in particular for:
- reconstruction of CHPP-1 (Central Heating and Power Plant) and CHPP-2 with conversion of CHPP water-heating boilers to natural gas combustion while maintaining their capability to run on coal;
- gradual gasification of the houses of the private sector and the conversion to gas fuel of the intra-block boiler plants;
- conversion of the existing consumers of LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) to natural gas.
The implementation of this project will significantly improve the fuel and energy balance and the ecological state of environment of the city of Astana.
At the same time, both the hidden effects associated with quality of the manufactured products and level of comfort of consumption of natural gas for domestic needs, and the obtainment of a direct economic benefit from the used energy resources will be achieved.
