The First Vice-Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Makhambet Dosmukhambetov, speaking at the KIOGE (Kazakhstan International Oil & Gas Conference) conference, talked about the reconstruction of Kazakhstan’s oil refineries and provision of the market with domestic oil products, Kazinform reported.
"The projects of modernization of Atyrau refinery and Pavlodar refinery have been successfully completed in the field of oil refining. The deadline for the final reconstruction of the Shymkent refinery has been scheduled for the end of this year. Upon completion of the reconstruction of these refineries, the provision of the country's market with domestic oil products, and elimination of dependence on imports of gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation fuel have started," Makhambet Dosmukhambetov said.
He noted that introduction of repair control automation systems at three refineries this year allows to reduce the annual repair time of refineries from 45 to 20 days. The shutdowns for 45 days will now occur no more than once every three years. Also, the volume of oil refining has increased at each refinery. Thus, in the near future, the demand on the market of Kazakhstan will be fully satisfied with domestic oil products.
The KIOGE exhibition has opened today in Almaty at the "Atakent" exhibition complex where the latest technological, engineering and software developments for oil and gas companies from leading mining, oil and gas companies, oil service companies and suppliers of the industry will be presented.
