UAE company to build wind, solar power plants in Uzbekistan

UAE energy company Masdar (Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company) will build a wind and solar power plant in Uzbekistan, the press service of the State Committee of Uzbekistan on Investments announced.

The cooperation agreement was signed between the energy company and the State Investment Committee within the framework of the Uzbek-Emirates business forum in Tashkent.

The document provides for the partnership in development of renewable energy sources, and, in particular, for the construction of wind and solar power plants.

The energy company Masdar, headquartered in the emirate of Abu Dhabi (UAE), has the ambitious goal of developing and promoting clean energy both within the emirate and around the world, and is an important component of the implementation of the UAE economic diversification plan.

Earlier it was reported that Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates signed an agreement on establishment of a direct investment fund with a capital of $1 billion within the framework of the Uzbek-Emirates business forum in Tashkent.

In the 1H2018, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and the UAE amounted to $58.5 million, of which $22.5 million accounted for exports to the UAE, $36 million accounted for imports. Currently, there are 88 enterprises in Uzbekistan with participation of capital from the UAE.
