The head of Iran-India Joint Chamber of Commerce said Iran is cooperating with India for the expansion of the Arash joint oilfield.

“Indians have officially announced that they will continue to buy Iranian oil,” Ebrahim Jamili told ILNA on October 15.

"We currently have extensive cooperation with India in the expansion of Arash field", he added.

The massive Arash field’s reserves are believed to contain around 20 trillion cubic feet (tcf) of natural gas.

The field is shared by Iran, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia where it is known as 'Dorra' and is a contested area between Tehran and Kuwait.
