Uzbekistan increases electricity production

In January-November 2018, Uzbekistan increased electricity production by 3.6 percent compared to the same period in 2017, Trend reports on Dec. 14 referring to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

In the reporting period, the country's enterprises generated about 56.25 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity.

Uzbekistan also produced 24.8 million gigacalories of heat energy, which is 1.1 percent more compared to the same period of 2017.

Uzbekistan’s energy operator Uzbekenergo earlier told Trend that the volume of realized investments in the energy sector of Uzbekistan exceeded 3.07 trillion soums in the first nine months of 2018, which is seven times more than last year (421.7 billion soums).

Of the total investment realized, the share of Uzbekenergo accounts for 342.8 billion soums, which is almost twice as much as in 2017 (187.6 billion soums).
