Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh said that four more South Pars gas fields’ phases will be put into operation in the next 4 months despite US sanctions on Iranian oil industry.

The minister made the remarks speaking on Iran's state television, about the effect of US sanctions on Iran's oil projects.

He said that establishing a plant in Siraf (in Busheher province) coincided with new US sanctions, so the operation has stopped and currently Iran considers to resume the plan through new investments.

Referring to the latest developments of South Pars project, he said the 21st phase of South Pars was put into operation last year, and four more phases are to be launched by the end of this Iranian year (end on March 20, 2019).

The official noted that by the end of the year (March 20,2019), 3 phases of South Pars project with 800 million cubic meter production capacity, alongside the 3rd phase of Persian Gulf Star Refinery, will be put into operation.
