By Leman Zeynalova – Trend:
The IGCB AD, a consortium for construction of the Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria (IGB) expects to advance with the tender for selecting an owner’s engineer for the project in January, Teodora Georgieva, Executive Officer of ICGB AD, told Trend.
She pointed out that the selection committee has already prepared a compliance protocol based on the offers submitted, which is going to be published in January.
“Further the committee will proceed with the evaluation of the technical offers and the opening of the price offer aiming to finalize soon. We are aiming to have the owner’s engineer of board before the evaluation of offers for the EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) contract,” said the executive officer.
As for the selection of a line pipe supplier, Georgieva noted that the company is much more advanced with the line pipe supply tender compared to the EPC.
“After the pre-qualification phase we also carried out a site inspection, which has delayed the process. The selection committee has already preselected some participants and the evaluation of the technical offers is going on, as well as additional clarifications upon some issues considered during the site inspection,” she said.
IGB is a gas pipeline, which will allow Bulgaria to receive Azerbaijani gas, in particular, the gas produced from Azerbaijan's Shah Deniz 2 gas and condensate field. IGB is expected to be connected to TAP via which gas from the Shah Deniz field will be delivered to the European markets.
The initial capacity of IGB will be 3 billion cubic meters of gas.
