Kazakhstan's revenues from gas exports increase by almost 40%

Natural gas production in Kazakhstan for the first 11 months of 2018 amounted to 50.6 billion cubic meters in physical terms, which is almost 5 percent more than in the same period of 2017, Trend reports referring to EnergyProm.kz.

In monetary terms, gas production amounted to 183.5 billion tenge, which is also almost 5 percent more than a year earlier.

Some 42.5 percent of production accounted for the Atyrau region, 36 percent for the West Kazakhstan region and 12.4 percent for the Aktobe region.

It should be noted that the main operator of gas production in Kazakhstan is the national company KazMunayGas, which accounts for 28 percent of the total oil and gas condensate production in the country and 16 percent of natural and associated gas production.

Natural gas exports for the first 10 months of 2018 reached 22 billion cubic meters and $1.7 billion (14.5 percent up in physical terms and 38.2 percent up in monetary terms).

The main buyer of Kazakh gas is Russia (7.8 billion cubic meters in January-October 2018, which is almost 40 percent more year-on-year). In money this amounts to $140 million, which is almost 61 percent more year-on-year.
