By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:

If the Iranian government will allocate funds to alternative energy from the National Development Fund of Iran (NDFI) and foreign exchange revenues, this will help boost production, Hamidreza Fouladgar, head of the Parliamentary Commission for Support of Production and member of the Industries & Mines Commission, told the Iranian parliament's website, Trend reports.

According to Fouladgar, with funds being allocated for alternative energy sources, this process will lead to reduced energy consumption and new workplaces in the future.

Fouladgar added that it is intended in Iran's Law for the 5th and 6th Development Plans (5th Program lasted from 2011-2015, the 6th Program from 2016-2021) to create employment by means of alternative energies.

"A reduction in dependence on fossil fuels in resistance policies has also been noted," he said.

The Iranian MP said that alternative energy usage not only increases employment, but is also environmentally friendly, and added that an alternative renewable energy utilization department has been established within the Iranian Ministry of Energy, with Iran's Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization also taking positive steps for the utilization of said energy sources.

"Iran’s Parliamentary Commission for Support of Production holds numerous meetings with representatives of alternative energy associations, manufacturers, small and large scale power plants, and CHP (Combined Heat and Power) power plants," he said.

The Iranian MP stated that the purpose of the said meetings is to reduce electricity consumption and open workplaces.

"Alternative renewable energy lifts some of the weight of providing electricity, off of the government. As such, the experience and knowledge of the countries that have achieved success in this field can be used," he said.
