Kazakhstan's Atyrau region raises oil, gas production

More than 47 million tons of oil was produced last year in the Atyrau region of Kazakhstan, Trend reports via Kazakh media.

"Some 47.2 million tons of oil and 23.6 billion cubic meters of gas were produced in the Atyrau region in 2018. Tengizchevroil LLP produced and sent to the world markets 28.6 million tons of oil and 15.6 billion cubic meters of gas," the press service of the region’s administration reported.

NCOC, which is developing the Kashagan field in the Caspian Sea, produced 13.2 million tons of oil, which is more than half higher compared to 2017, and 7.7 billion cubic meters of gas. Embamunaigas produced 2.9 million tons of oil and 221.2 million cubic meters of gas.

Thus, compared to 2017, oil production in the Atyrau region amounted to 111.8 percent, and gas production to 113 percent.

In general, industrial production in the region in 2018 reached 7.51 trillion tenge. The mining industry output products worth 6.84 trillion tenge.
