By Rashid Shirinov – Trend:

Some 28.6 million tons of oil (228.2 million barrels) were produced at the Tengiz field in Kazakhstan in 2018, said Tengizchevroil, the operator of the field, Trend reports via Kazakh media.

Also last year, Tengizchevroil produced more than 1.3 million tons of liquefied gas, 9.2 billion cubic meters of dry gas and 2.5 million tons of sulfur.

İt should be noted that in 2016, Tengizchevroil shareholders announced the approval of the final decision on the financing Of the Future Expansion Project and the Wellhead Pressure Management Project (FEP-WPMP). This is the next stage of large-scale expansion of production capacities of the Tengiz field.

To improve efficiency and save money, the construction of FEP-WPMP facilities is carried out simultaneously.

"Completion of the projects will increase production by about 12 million tons per year or 260,000 barrels per day. The total production will be 39 million tons per year or 850,000 barrels per day," Tengizchevroil said.

This will ensure the full utilization of the refining capacities of the plants operating at Tengiz by reducing the wellhead pressure of the gushing wells and increasing the pressure at the inlet of the six operating complex production lines.
