Some 120 of 250 oil fields and 100 of 130 gas fields remain undeveloped in Iran, head of exploration at the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) Saleh Hendi said, Trend reports via IRNA.
He said that the development of many fields costs the NIOC too much, and it would be more expedient to transfer this activity to the private sector.
“It is necessary to make major changes to the strategic programs, financial structure of the NIOC,” he said.
