Fifteen water heaters equipped with solar panels have been installed in Mahabad county of Iran's West Azerbaijan province, Majid Patu, director of Mahabad natural resources and water management department, told IRNA, Trend reports March 12.
Patu noted that water heaters equipped with solar panels were bought during the Natural Resources Week and given to three villages of Mahabad.
He further added that each water heater was bought for 70 million rials (roughly $1,600) and altogether, 1 billion rials (roughly $23,800) were spent on the purchase.
Installation of water heaters has prevents tree felling in the county, the director said.
Natural Resources Week was held between March 6 and 12 in Iran.
