Presentations of new investment projects of Turkmenistan in the gas and gas chemical industries will take place during the International Gas Congress held on May 21-22 Turkmenistan’s Caspian resort of Awaza, Trend reports referring to the Turkmen Dovlet Habarlary (TDH) state agency.

Discussions will be held on the sidelines of the congress with interested oil and gas companies on attracting direct foreign investment for the implementation of long-term projects, both in the field of exploration and of the complex processing of hydrocarbon resources, as well as the production of finished products with high added value.

Important steps for developing these areas of fuel and energy complexes were the recently commissioned plant for processing natural gas and producing carbamide in the city of Garabogaz in Turkmenistan’s western Balkan Region, as well as a polymer factory built in the village of Kiyanly in Balkan Region, TDH notes.

The gas congress will primarily revolve around the initiatives for diversifying energy supplies abroad for sustainable development. In this aspect, a separate topic on the agenda of the forum is the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline (TAPI) that is strategically important for the region.

Experts are also going to explore various strategies for improving gas production, processing and transportation using intelligent technologies. The event is expected to be attended by top managers of large specialized companies and multinational holdings. Among them - Hyundai Engineering, Kawasaki, Shell, Petronas, Gaffney, Cline and Associates, NAPECO, Vitol, CNPC, Dragon Oil, ENI, Buried Hill, and others. The congress is held by the Turkmengas state concern in partnership with the Turkmen Forum company.
