IMF expects oil exports to decline in Azerbaijan in 2019-2020

Azerbaijan is expected to produce 0.78 million barrels of oil per day in 2019, as compared to 0.79 million barrels per day in 2019, Trend reports citing the Regional Economic Outlook: Middle East and Central Asia Update of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

IMF expects this figure to stand at 0.77 million barrels per day in 2020.

As for gas production, IMF expects it at the level of 0.54 million barrels per day as of 2019, as compared to 0.41 million barrels per day in 2018.

The report shows that the volume of gas production in Azerbaijan will stand at 0.54 million barrels per day in 2020.

IMF also expects that Azerbaijan’s oil exports will drop from 0.75 million barrels per day in 2018 to 0.74 million barrels per day in 2019 and stand at 0.72 million barrels per day in 2020.

This is while gas exports from Azerbaijan are predicted to rise from 0.36 million barrels per day in 2018 to 0.48 million barrels per day in 2019 and stand at 0.53 million barrels per day in 2020.
