Iran among TOP 3 petroleum exporters to Turkey

Iran is the second largest exporter of petroleum products to Turkey as of March 2019, with exports standing at 532,173 tons, Trend reports citing Turkey’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK).

Thus, the country’s share in Turkey’s imports amounted to 14.39 percent, only lagging behind Russia, which accounted for 34.14 percent of the country’s imports with 1,262 million tons, the report says.

The third place in terms of petroleum exports to Turkey in March of this year went to Iraq with 465,338 tons, accounting for 12.58 percent of imports, said EPDK.

The report shows that Turkey imported 880,317 tons of crude oil from Russia, 532,173 tons and 465,338 tons of crude oil from Iran and Iraq, respectively.

The total volume of petroleum imports by Turkey in March 2019 stood at more than 3.697 million tons, including 2.504 million tons of crude oil, 1.068 million tons of diesel fuel, 61,524 tons of fuel oil, 31,928 tons of jet fuel, 1,533 tons of marine fuels and 29,970 tons of other petroleum products, said EPDK.
