Georgia is implementing a large-scale gas supply program, including in villages where gas will be supplied for the first time, Trend reports with reference to the website of the National Bank of Georgia.

According to the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnawa, the process of gas supply is directly observed in the regions and the timing of deliveries is controlled.

“The gas supply process gives people the opportunity to create new small businesses, develop agricultural tourism, open family hotels and improve the well-being of families in general,” the minister said.

According to her, the three-year gas supply plan, approved by the government for 2019-2121, will lead to an 85 percent gas supply to Georgia. Gas supply will reduce cutting down of trees, which will lead to improvement of the ecological situation. In July, gas supply will start in 6 villages of Dusheti, 2 villages of the municipality of Lanchkhuti, in Zestafoni, Kharagauli, Marneuli, Tkibuli, Terjola, Kharagauli, Vano, etc.

In general, the program will supply gas to 1,300,000 families throughout Georgia, which is more than 226 villages.
