By Nargiz Sadikhova - Trend:
Work at the Third Generation Plant construction site of Tengiz oil field is temporarily suspended due to the recent unrest on the field, Trend reports with reference to Tengizchevroil’s press office.
“Tengizchevroil is assessing the appropriate time to resume activities on the construction site,” the report said. “The production operations are running as normal. All other construction sites have resumed work.”
On June 29, an interpersonal conflict took place among workers at the construction site causing several injuries of contractor employees. Tengizchevroil treated more than 40 workers for non-life-threatening injuries. The situation at Tengiz is stable as of now.
Tengizchevroil is a joint venture between Chevron, ExxonMobil, KazMunayGas and LukArco. The joint venture was formed in April 1993, when the Kazakhstan government granted an exclusive 40-year right to Tengizchevroil to develop the Tengiz and Korolevskoye oil fields located in the north-eastern reaches of the Caspian Sea in Kazakhstan.
