Uzbekistan establishes new JSC in oil, gas sector

A new joint-stock company, Hududgaztaminot, has been established in the oil and gas sector of Uzbekistan, Trend reports with reference to the press service of Uzbekneftegaz.

Bahodir Eshmuratov was appointed Chairman of the Board of Hududgaztaminot JSC. Previously, he held the position of Chairman of the Board of Uztransgaz JSC.

The new structure in the system of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan is created on the basis of the territorial branches of gas supply, which will deal with the operation of gas distribution networks and related equipment, supplying consumers of the country with natural and liquefied gas.

Recently, Trend reported that in accordance with the presidential decree, the priority task of Uzbekneftegaz will be to increase the annual production of hydrocarbons, including natural gas, to 42.3 billion cubic meters and liquefied natural gas to 1.5 million tons by 2024 by encouraging cooperation with major transnational oil and gas companies.

The total oil production in Uzbekistan in 2018 compared with 2017 decreased by 8.2 percent to 746,400 tons, and natural gas increased by 6.1 percent to 59,842 billion cubic meters, in accordance with official data.
