Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC) starts to revise gas tariffs, Trend reports on August 1 with reference to the Commission.
At the review meeting of the regulatory body, tariffs will be calculated for the following companies: Georgian Gas Transportation Company (setting tariffs for transportation of natural gas), KazTransGaz-Tbilisi, SOCAR Georgia Gas, EnergoConnection, Sachkheregaz JSC, Taba LLC and Telavgaz LLC.
In parallel, the revision of domestic tariffs for local thermal power plants has also begun.
Currently, the tariff for natural gas for KazTransGaz-Tbilisi subscribers is 46,463 tetri (including VAT), for SOCAR-Georgia Gas - 56,940 tetri (including VAT) and 49,526 tetri (excluding VAT).
According to both local experts and businessmen, under the conditions of the national currency devaluation, increasing tariffs for gas and electricity is inevitable.
