The agreement on export of Kazakh oil to Belarus can be signed in October of this year, Trend reports with reference to Belarusian media.

Reportedly, the signing will be held in conjunction to the visit of president of Belarus to Kazakhstan. This visit will be the first visit of Alexander Lukashenko to Kazakhstan after presidential election of Kassym Jomart Tokayev. A number of documents are expected to be signed during the visit.

“Currently the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan and The Belarusian State Concern for Oil and Chemistry are holding negotiations and we hope that the agreement will be signed before the visit of Alexander Lukashenko to Kazakhstan,” Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Belarus Askar Beisenbayev said.

In May 2019 the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has proposed to activate negotiations on export of Kazakh oil to Belarus during the meeting with Ex-Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Belarus Ermukhamet Ertysbayev.

Ertysbayev then noted that Kazakhstan is ready to supply oil to Belarus, but the issue of transit should be aligned with Russia first.

Ambassador of Belarus to Kazakhstan Anatoly Nichkasov noted that Belarussian party is holding negotiations with Kazakhstan on both supply of oil and supply and processing of petroleum products.
